Mortal Kombat 11has been one of the best games of the year so far, with many long-time fans of the franchise believing that it’s one of the greatest entries in the brutal series. NetherRealm, the studio behind the game, has been hard at work adding new characters to the game since launch, with many more coming down the pipeline. Thefull Kombat Pack 1 rosterwas recently revealed, showing off which characters will be added and when, including Spawn, who also had a new render revealed earlier today.

The render looks incredibly detailed, absolutely besting the quality of the ’90s film version ofSpawn. While the render will likely get fans excited for the character’s addition toMortal Kombat 11,they still have quite some time to wait before they can actually get their hands on the character, as Spawn won’t be added to the game until March 24th next year.

Of course, Spawn isn’t the only character fans have to look forward to. Other famous characters will also be added to the game, such as Terminator and The Joker. However,The Joker does look uncomfortably similar to a porn parody versionof the famous Batman villain. That being said, all of the characters announced so far should be stellar additions to the game.

It’ll be interesting to see which other characters have high quality renders released leading up to their launches. Game Director Ed Boon released quite a few images ofNightwolfbefore his launch, which generated a pretty healthy amount of hype for the character. It would make sense for them to do Terminator next, as he’s the next character set to release.

It is interesting that the studio decided to reveal an image so early. It’s possible that the character is being saved to launch in correlation with the forthcomingSpawnreboot movie, but it still seems like an odd marketing move. That aside, it’s great to see a sneak peek of the character, especially such a high-quality version.

Mortal Kombat 11is available now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch.
