While theMortal Kombat 11release date is over two months in the past, NetherRealm Studios is keeping players engaged with its newest fighting game through post-launch support. This includes introducingMortal Kombat11 DLC charactersinto the game and also adding new brutalities for fans to unlock. One such newMortal Kombat 11brutality was discovered just this week, and it is for the man with the cybernetic arms himself, Jax.
This new Jax brutality is called “Buffed Up,” and it is unlocked by completing aMortal Kombat 11Towers of Timetitled “Hold That.” The Towers of Time features a single battle against Jax, at Very Hard difficulty, and completing it not only grants the aforementioned brutality, but also a Jax skin and gear. Players that are interested in unlocking the newMortal Kombat 11brutality for themselves will need to keep an eye out for an active “Hold That” Towers of Time.
With respect to what fans will see when executing thisMK11brutality for Jax, the fighter puts his opponent into a rough sleeper hold before snapping their neck and promptly removing their head from their body. Simple, yes, but the new Jax brutality is quite grisly in its detail, and many fans will be happy to add it to their arsenals ofMortal Kombat 11finishers.
As with the otherMortal Kombat 11brutalities, players must meet predetermined criteria to trigger “Buffed Up.” Specifically, a back throw must be used to administer the final hit of the match, and players are required to rapidly press 1 and 2 during said back throw. Certainly, having access to a Jax finisher that comes from a throw opens up some exciting options for ending a match with gruesome style.
Indeed, theMortal Kombat 11fatalitiesand brutalities feature some of the most vicious imagery that has been seen in the series to date, and Jax’s “Buffed Up” finisher definitely lives up to that high bar. While it may not be as elaborate as some of the otherMK11brutalities, it is quite effective in prompting a visceral response, and it will certainly be a suitable way to put an end to an opponent once and for all.
Mortal Kombat 11is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with a Stadia version in development.
