With the release ofCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, players have been excited to see the series go back to a more grounded experience, but this is not to say the game is without any issues. Specifically, some players have taken issue with the trophy system, as they feel it doesn’t adequately protect them from enemy explosives.

According to the co-design director of multiplayer forCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, Joe Cecot, there are some changes planned for the trophy system. This includes taking a look at how the trophy system field upgrade currently works and making any necessary tweaks.

The discussion sparked when afan tweeted at Cecot, asking the design intent of the trophy system and explaining that the trophy system felt inadequate. Cecot explained that the trophy system is intended to be a soft counter to grenades and still has a blast radius that causes a bit of damage. He compares the gadget to its appearance inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3and says that he will take a look at the damage to see where it is at.

Following this, Cecot had a discussion with YouTuber MarleyThirteen, who asked about the implementation of a potential Cranked Gun Game. Marley explained that it would play like regular Gun Game, but if the player dies they will be reset back to the starting pistol and whoever can get to the highest Cranked streak in the allotted time will win the game.

Cecot responded with a gif showing his praise for the idea. Cecot then went on to explain that the team atInfinity Wardtalks about having other game modes with the Cranked modifier added. It is then revealed that David Mickner, a multiplayer designer and co-creator of Gunfight 2v2s, has coded Cranked to work properly in other modes.

Only time will tell when these new features will be coming toCall of Duty:Modern Warfare. However, it is always nice to have the reassurance that thedevelopers are paying attentionto feedback and like to follow through with the ideas that the community is having.
