A majorSeverancetheory about Mr. Milchick has been addressed by star Tramell Tillman as the wait for season 3 of Apple TV+’s sci-fi drama continues. Of all thecharacters inSeverance, there are more mysteries surrounding Milchick than almost anyone else. This has given rise to a theory that he’s also a prisoner at Lumon despite not being severed.
Speaking withVariety, Tillman expressed understanding for the theory that Milchick is a prisoner at Lumon. He also unpacked his character, believing him to be scary due to how “methodical” he is about everything. He also hopes the show explores more of the severed floor’s Manager when it comes back. Check out what Tillman had to say below:
I can understand that theory. It’s hard for me to answer because there are so many questions that I have about the character myself. What scares me is his potential. How he moves his eyes, how he moves his head. Everything is methodical. I’m always intrigued by people’s histories. If I could go back to any time period, it would be the 1950s, because I want to watch my parents grow up. With Milchick, it’s understanding where this man came from. I’m fascinated by history and how people get to certain points.
What Tillman’s Statement Says About Severances' Milchick Prisoner Theory
Severanceseason 2 endedwith not many answers about Milchick, but with the Manager in a precarious situation. Mark managed to rescue Gemma from Lumon’s Cold Harbor project, but his innie decided to stay inside with Helly. Milchick was last seen surrounded by a number of rebelling innies, seemingly becoming trapped on the severed floor as their prisoner.
As for being a prisoner of Lumon, Tillman’s statement is vague, emphasizing just how much mystery is still left to explore with Milchick. Season 2 saw him being more rebellious against his superiors, growing tired of getting micromanaged and talked down to by people like Mr. Drummond. Whether that makes himimprisoned or just a disgruntled employee remains unclear.
The changed dynamics ofSeveranceseason 3means there might be more answers surrounding the company’s work and why its employees do what they do. With Milchick trapped on the severed floor, it’s possible he’ll have to reckon with the work he’s been doing, potentially revealing secrets about the company and its board in the process.
Our Take On Milchick Being A Prisoner In Severance
Although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, Milchick could be a prisoner of Lumon to some extent. It’s hinted that he was raised by the company as a child, much like Harmony Cobel and Ms. Huang, meaning he’s likely been brainwashed to believe their cause. Whether that makes him a prisoner or not is debatable. But his loyalty could be swayed.
Depending on howSeveranceseason 3 plays out, the show could see Milchick have a change of heart, especially given the setup for something like that in season 2. Whether it happens or not is unknown, but there still exists the possibility that he’ll come to see everything he’s been doing in a different light other than Lumon’s.
