Now, Reality Labs finally revealed the specs of theMeta Quest 3headset, which will be out by October 10, and cost $499.99 (128 GB version) or $649.99 (512 GB). The new device will weigh 515 grams, being only slightly heavier than its predecessor, and will come with six advanced camera sensors, which are said to offer an improved immersive experience. The Meta Quest 3 also comes with 8 GB of RAM (2 GB more than the Meta Quest 2), and an LCD monitor with a 2064x2209 resolution per eye. The headset will employ the Qualcomm Snapdragon Xr2 chipset and have fully redesigned controls for better gameplay and a more ergonomic style. It also supports a 6E Wi-Fi signal and has a 120Hz refresh rate.
The only detail that does not seem to have changed much from Meta Quest 2 is the battery life, as the device promises around two hours and a half of gaming when fully charged, which is about the same as the previous headset. Apart from these specs, users will essentially have access to the same catalog and most functions as Meta Quest 2, such as the ability toplay Steam games using the VR headset. Meta Quest 2 owners don’t need to worry, though, as the manufacturer has already promised that the previous headset will not be discontinued yet and that most games will be compatible with both versions.
