Not too long ago,Venomfans received confirmation from Marvel that Knull, the King in Black and Symbiote God, is returning from the dead. His official comeback is set for the milestoneVenom#250 (2025), arriving just in time for Spooky Season. Now, Marvel is raising the excitement even higher with brand-new cover art that teases a surprising development.
Marvel recently shared an exclusive with AIPT Comics featuring an epic cover by artist Jerome Opeña for Al Ewing and Terry Dodson’supcomingVenom#250, which hits comic book shelves on June 06, 2025.
Previously released cover art and the official synopsis for this issue already teased Knull’s return to the Marvel Universe, which came as a major surprise since he was supposedly killed by Eddie Brock, with the story implying that nothing could bring him back. Marvel has since offered a chilling explanation, stating that“Knull rules over nothing.”However, Opeña’s new cover suggests that in addition to ruling over nothing,Knull may now also rule over Venom himself.

If Opeña’s cover is accurate, Mary Jane may not be the only one influencing Venom, as Knull appears to be pulling the symbiote’s strings.
The cover depicts Knull standing confidently, lifting one hand in a gesture that resembles a puppet master. This idea is reinforced by the image of Venom charging forward in front of him. Knull’s smug expression and commanding pose, combined with Venom’s aggressive motion, suggest thatthe symbiote may now be acting under Knull’s control.
