ScreenRant: Madelyn, for you, you’re in the middle of Outer Banks season 5 production, still shooting. I keep reading that you’re crying every day, so I don’t even want to ask if it’s bittersweet. I feel like I know already.
Madelyn Cline:Wait, where did you see that? Because it’s not untrue.
ScreenRant:You said it on TikTok.
Madelyn Cline:Oh, yes. I am crying every day. I did say it on TikTok, didn’t I? Yes. It’s really emotional. It’s really emotional. I try not to think too hard about it because I’m so grateful every single day, even if it’s a hard day, sometimes I find myself being so like, ‘Grrr,’ or ‘Oh, I’m so tired, or I’m hungry,’ or whatever. But then I think about the big picture, and it’s kind of, in a way, the end of an era, and it is truly one of the biggest things ever, just in my life. It’s one of the most significant things so far in my life, and it has truly shaped me, and I’m really, really grateful for it. Yes, [The Map That Leads To You co-star KJ Apa] knows, he’s been through it. We also have had talks about it, the experience, and what it’s like to be on a show that has truly kind of formed the person that you are. So yeah, I do. I cry a lot, and happy tears.

Madelyn Cline:We’re about two and a half months in. Yes, yes. And we’ve been shooting, well, this past week has been all night shoots, so I am currently nocturnal. I don’t know. I’m alive right now, but am I awake? No.

ThoughOuter Banksseason 5’s story is being kept tightly under wraps, we do know our favorite amateur treasure hunters will be headed to Portugal with the hope of securing Blackbeard’s Blue Crown from JJ’s murderer and biological father, Groff (J. Anthony Crane). They’re not just after the treasure, though; they’ll also be after revenge for their fallen friend.
JJ Maybank’s death was a shock to everyone, though perhaps even more so for the pregnant Sarah.JJ saved Sarah’s lifeafter all, jumping into the ocean for her during a storm.
