Leverage: Redemptionstar Beth Riesgraf gives an uncertain update on whether the show will be renewed for season 4. The originalLeveragewas canceled back in December 2012, after a five-season run. In 2021, the majority of the cast reprised their roles for theLeveragerevival showLeverage: Redemption, which dropped on Freevee before moving to Prime Video after two seasons. The show has currently passed the halfway point of season 3, and Riesgraf, who plays Parker on the show, has given her thoughts on the chances of a renewal.
“No, not yet. But let’s get it going, people. Let’s talk about this. Huh? We’ve got to get the Nana episode. I mean spread the word. If you guys like the show, I just say spread the word. The more subscriptions that Amazon gets, the better the chances are, I think, because they’ll see that people show up for this show, and these characters, and that they really care. It’s so fun. We’re all grateful for how much we’ve gotten to do on the show, how far we’ve gotten to take it. So, obviously, full gratitude on that, but it would be so fun to keep going.”
What This Means For Leverage: Redemption’s Future
The Move To Prime Will Make Or Break The Show
Leverage: Redemptioncontinued the fun and complex plotlines of the original show, and has managed to do a commendable job of reviving the series almost a decade later. While the first two seasons of the show aired on Freevee, it is the move to Prime that will really prove decisive. This will expose the show to a wider audience, which would be instrumental in securing a renewal. Riesgraf’s comments suggest the cast are unaware of whether the show will last beyondLeverage: Redemptionseason 3, but this doesn’t mean that a renewal is not on the cards.
Leverage: Redemptionseason 3 is currently available to stream on Prime Video.
The current season is exploring a range of diverse stories, and being able to connect with a wider audience should help to improve the show’s chances of renewal. If the show is well-received and picks up the audience share Amazon is hoping for, there is a good chance thatLeverage: Redemptionseason 4will get a renewal. That said, per Riesgraf’s comments reveal, it’s best to temper expecations until it’s official.
