As revealed by Nintendo Life, the Nintendo Switch version ofKnockout Citywill have two different options, Quality Mode and Performance Mode. Quality Mode is the default setting and will include extra graphical fidelity. While docked it will run at 1080p resolution and at 30fps. Meanwhile, in handheld, it will run at 720p resolution and at 30fps. Performance mode has a lower graphical fidelity but a higher frame rate. It also requires a higher and more stable internet. While docked it will run at 810p resolution and at 60fps. Meanwhile, in handheld, it will run at 540p resolution and at 60fps. In general, Performance Mode would be more suited for competitive play and the better option for cross-play.

Cross-play functionality is becoming more important to the gaming community, as games likeFortnite, Rocket Leauge, andApex Legendsimplement it. However, with the Nintendo Switch being a console that is less powerful than the PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, it is possible that games that use cross-play functionality are at a disadvantage on the Switch.Apex Legendsdoes not perform as well on the Nintendo Switch, for example, and that is a trade-off that developers, Nintendo, and the gamers themselves have to choose to accept.

Knockout Cityreleases for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One on Jun 09, 2025.
