Kirby and the Forgotten Landintroduces a new feature in the form of upgradable Copy Abilities, which sees classic abilities such as Fire and Ice get new powerful variants. One of these upgrades can be found late into the game, yet its design seems to cement itself as a fan favorite with many players.Frost Ice Kirbyis getting lots of love from fans, including how one fan has now animated the ability in a cute pixel art style.
Kirbyfirst started out on the Game Boy withKirby’s Dream Land. Due to this,Kirbyhas had quite a history of being drawn in sprites and pixel art. In recent years, most pixel art has been fan-made as the series shifted into using 3D assets withKirby’s Return to Dream Land.Kirbyremained a 2D sidescroller up until recently, however, finally making the jump to proper 3D withKirby and the Forgotten Land.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land’snew Ice ability has made its way into pixel art by an artist known as Mohammed Bali, who can be found on Reddit and Twitter. The animation sees Frosty Ice Kirby skating around at night as he leaves snowflakes behind wherever he goes, painting a rather cute image for fans.
The artwork has been uploaded in video form rather than a simple image, accompanied by the same track that plays duringNortheast Frost Street, the level in the same game that marked Frosty Ice Kirby’s debut. The animation was made as a commission, and the client has commented on the post stating that they love the final product they received.
Other fans have voiced finding the animation rather cute, and it certainly is. The animation showcasing Kirby ice skating is rather fitting as for thelast few installments of theKirbyseries, walking as any form of Ice Kirby allowed Kirby to skate around as an added detail. The ability also allows players to skate across water, and even lava in the levels that include it.
It certainly helps fans use their imaginations to picture whatKirby and the Forgotten Landmight have looked like if it was a pixel 2D sidescroller like other classicKirbygames. It serves as a rather unique image compared to how many fans tend to wonder what the classic titles such asKirby’s Dream Land 3would look like if remadein the style ofForgotten Land.
