As many know,Kingdom Hearts 3has a complicated plot spanning a multitude of installments across a variety of consoles and handhelds. And there’s no doubt that many were ready to see the end of the Xehanort saga in the latest installment of the action RPG series. So many, in fact, that it became the fastest selling game in the history of the longrunning series.
Counting both physical and digital copies since January 29,Kingdom Hearts 3has managed to ship over 5 million units. That means millions of gamers have taken the dive into theall of the Disney worldsthe game has to offer such asBig Hero 6andMonsters Inc.
Of course, considering it has only been out a week (at the time writing), sales are only going to keep climbing. Plus, withthe game set to include DLC, the profitability ofKingdom Hearts 3is also likely to keep growing. After all, whether the DLC will focus on expanding the story or adding new worlds (or both), gamers may very well wish to see the franchise’s titular third installment continue to move forward.
These statistics almost speak for themselves, as it proves that the anticipation and hype behindKingdom Hearts 3is as big as ever. Some have likely already beaten the game by now, but with the number of mini-games, collectibles, and more, it’s hard to say how many players are actually finished with the game. In other words, it would seem that plenty are happy with this installment.
For some, however, the fact thatKingdom Hearts 3has taken so long to launch is a cause for concern.
