There’s no denying thatKingdom Hearts 3is a massive game, and arguably the longest game in the series to date. However, it could’ve been even larger in scope, as fans have started pointing out some of the content that was shown before release but ultimately didn’t make it to the final product.

In a Twitter thread started by EdoNinja,Kingdom Hearts 3fans have realized that parts of the game were clearly cut before release. One example of this is the Mysterious Tower area, which was shown as playable prior to the game’s launch. However, in the final product ofKingdom Hearts 3, players only visit the Mysterious Tower in cut-scenes, and can’t actually travel to the world themselves.

After EdoNinja’s revelation, others chimed in with their own evidence of content that was cut fromKingdom Hearts 3. One user pointed out that Eeyore doesn’t appear in the100 Acre Wood worldat all, and others lamented how the Twilight Town world was reduced in scope.

It’s hard to say exactly why this content was cut fromKingdom Hearts 3, but as one Twitter user pointed out, it could have to do with the fact thatKingdom Hearts 3changed engines mid-development. Another explanation is simply that the developers decided to cut these portions of the game because they didn’t fit their vision for what they wantedKingdom Hearts 3to be.

Regardless of why the content was cut, the fact that it exists in some capacity has led some to speculate that it could be added back toKingdom Hearts 3as DLC. We know thatKingdom Hearts 3will have DLCin the future, but Square Enix has been tight-lipped on what that DLC will be. It’s entirely possible it will expand on worlds already in the game, though it’s safe to say most players would prefer the DLC add brand new worlds for Sora and the gang to explore together instead.

At the time of writing, we have no idea what Square Enix has in store forKingdom Hearts 3DLC, but we should find out in the coming months.

Kingdom Hearts 3is out now for PS4 and Xbox One.
