Jersey Shorewas a juggernaut of a reality show, and made huge stars out of its likable cast of East Coast juice-heads like Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, and Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino. The original series featured their drunken exploits as they partied their summers away at the Jersey shore in Seaside Heights, New Jersey. Suddenly, phrases like “grenades,” “yeah, buddy,” and “GTL” (or “gym, tan, laundry,” for those who aren’t in the know) were everywhere, and when the show went off the air, the cast went their separate ways, butreunited forFamily Vacationsix years later.

While they’re no longer gathering at the shore anymore,Jersey Shore Family Vacationfollows them in their real lives and on vacations with the old gang.Jersey Shore’s YouTube page dropped the season 8 trailer in early May,teasing everything fans can look forward to when they tune in. The show is celebrating 15 years ofJersey Shore, and the trailer begins with Jenni “J-Woww” Farley saying if she had to pick a word to describe the cast, it would be “unbreakable.”
Other items explored in the premiere trailer include the status of Ronnie Magro andformer flame Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola, whether The Situation has gotten hair plugs, Snooki’s journey to finding her birth mother, and Sammi’s fertility struggles.It’s clear that the cast has grown up and have other priorities rather than partying now, but they’re still so compelling to watch. They are now mostly married or partnered up, and most have kids of their own now, but as the trailer promises, they are still “DTF,” which they now define as the family-friendly “down to fist-pump.”

Original Cast Remains
Jersey Shore’s original cast has remained largely unchanged throughout the years, aside from a few instances. The original cast consisted of Pauly D, Jenni, Sammi, Vinny, Ronnie, Nicole, Angelina Pivarnick, and Mike. Deena Cortese joined the cast in season 3 after Angelina left, but Angelina returned for a few cameos and became a full-time cast member on theFamily Vacationspin-off in 2019. Sammi was the only original cast member to not return for theFamily Vacationspin-off, but she finally made her much-anticipated return to herJersey Shorefamily in 2023.

Sammi’s initial hesitationwas due to the aftermath of hertroubling relationship with Ronnie, which played out for many seasons on the originalJersey Shore. She decided to return, and was initially cold to Ronnie, but in the preview for the new season, we can see that they are on better terms.

Jersey Shore Family Vacationseason 8will premiere on MTV on “Jerzday,” May 29. “Jerzday” is what they refer to Thursday as, and the show has aired on Thursdays for as long as it’s been on the air, making it the perfect show to get audiences in the mood for the weekend. While a lot has changed for the cast, and they’re very much in different phases of life than when audiences first met them, their spirit and camaraderie remain unchanged. The bond they share is indeed “unbreakable,” and the fact that audiences are still tuning in speaks to that.
