Jensen Ackles gives an update on hisTrackerseason 3 status, striking a mixed tone. Ackles made his debut in theTrackercastas Russell Shaw, the older brother of Justin Hartley’s Colter Shaw, midway through the first season. Appearing in two episodes, with one in each season so far, theNever Gameadaptation has delved into the fraught but ultimately loving relationship between the siblings that is made complicated by their twisted family history.

Still, in the quote below, Ackles mentions thatconversations are taking place about his return:
“We are discussing that as we speak. That is being talked about, so yeah, I would hope so. Justin [Hartley] is a dear friend of mine and getting to play with him is always a fun thing. So, yeah, there are talks of bringing me back. To what capacity, I’m not sure yet.”
What This Means For Tracker Season 3
Russell Would Have To Deal With A Bombshell
It’s in theTrackerseason 2 finalethat it’s finally revealed that Colter’s mother was the one who arranged for his father, the seemingly paranoid Ashton Shaw, to be murdered. This news comes as a shock, but it’s especially significant becauseMary Dove Shaw made an effort to deepen the divide between Colter and Russell, knowing all the while that she’s responsible. This makes any potential return by Russell even more significant.

There is likely a lot more toAshton’s death inTrackerthan meets the eye, butRussell’s input will be crucialregardless. In his second appearance, the season 2 episode “Ontological Shock”, Russell and Colter part on excellent terms. But it’s unquestionable that this latest revelation will have to be addressed by the whole Shaw family, even if Russell can only appear via zoom or on the other end of a phone call.
