What We Know About Hobbs & Shaw 2 & Why It Might Not Happen
In 2019, producers claimed theyhad plans for aHobbs and Shawspin-off, but it seems this spin-off was postponed, which is disappointing. TheFast & Furiousspin-off was instead changed in 2023 toHobbs & Reyes,which featured Dwayne Johnson and Jason Momoa, the villain fromFast Xwho set out to kill Dom and his team.
Fast Xended with a scene where Reyes was targeting Hobbs after finishing with Dom and his crew. The idea was that these two men would face off before the finalFast and the Furiousmovie returned with Dom getting revenge on Reyes. However, even that movie seems to no longer be happening.
It is a complete mystery concerning what is going on with the entireFast & Furiousfranchise, and it seems only Vin Diesel has anything going on when it comes to the future. It looks like everything with Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham might be postponed to finish Dom’s story.
With time running out, if there is anotherHobbsmovie, it might have to arrive after theFast and Furiousfranchise ends, and in that case, bringing back Statham and Johnson for theHobbs and Shawsequel, while starting a new era, is the best bet.
