The next fighter to join theInjustice 2roster has been revealed, and old-school DC fans (or fans of the TV seriesLegends of Tomorrow) should be happy to see that The Atom has made the cut this time around. Utilizing similar powers to Marvel’s Ant-Man, Atom is capable of shrinking down to a sub-atomic level while still maintaining his regular level of strength. Not only capable of shrinking, Atom can also grow his body to a tremendous size, a feat that players will be able to make full use of in-game.

The announcement was made by the officialInjustice 2Twitter account, which claims that this new hero will be ‘coming soon’. Presumably, The Atom will be part of the next wave of DLC characters, releasing afterMortal Kombat’s Raiden and Mike Mignola’sHellboy.

Those who follow theInjustice 2comicsmight not be too surprised by the inclusion of Atom, as the character has made an appearance on Batman’s team of heroes in the past. The size-altering superhero has proven himself to be a significant ally, capable of shrinking down and entering Superman’s brain with a Kryptonite shard. The Atom can also grow to tremendous size, which could be a very useful and unique skill set for the game. If nothing else, NetherRealm should be able to do some interesting things with his super move.

It seems that NetherRealm Studio’s popular fighting game is still going strong, and the promise of more DLC characters still to come is sure to inspire fans to keep coming back toInjustice 2. So far, the game has topped the US and UK sales charts as well as becoming thehighest grossing console game of Q22017 but the developers aren’t done just yet.

If rumors are to be believed,Injustice 2may soon becoming to PCand abandoning its console exclusivity. New retail listings suggest that a PC port may be on the way, following in the footsteps of the firstInjustice: Gods Among Us, but if this is the case, NetherRealm Studios is remaining very quiet on the subject.

Injustice 2is out now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
