While Fortnite pros will never be able to rival stats like$300 million in mobile app purchasesin 200 days, they can still pull in impressive sums.
To give a sense of just how successful someFortnitepro players are, EsportsEarnings has released a breakdown of some pro player earnings. There have been numerous Fortnite tournaments held over the last year, including Keemstar’s Fortnite Fridays and Epic’s own Summer andFall Skirmish events, all of which have offered some healthy reward pools.
The chart reveals the top 20Fortnitepro player earnings starting with Bizzle who represents Ghost Gaming all the way down to NickMercs from Nadeshot’s esports team, 100 Thieves.
It’s worth mentioning that some notable names from the Fortnite scene are not on the list, like Ninja, Timthetatman, and Dr. Lupo. While Ninja is easily the most successful Fortnite player (not to mention Twitch streamer and online personality), his earnings have been fairly modest in Fortnite tournaments. Ninja (real name Tyler Blevins) evenaddressed the issue of tournamentsand why he doesn’t compete in as many, stating that his focus is on the quality of his stream and his family.
Nevertheless, the numbers show thatFortnite’s value extends beyond Epic Games’ revenue from cosmetics sales. Players can make a good living off of tournament winnings or simply by playing the game for entertainment purposes, or a little bit of both. And this is only reported earnings from tournaments with wide reach; there are plenty of smaller events out there that are generating decent-sized participation as well.
