About a week ago, Guerrilla Games officially announced the forthcoming release ofHorizon: Zero Dawn’sComplete Edition, which will not only contain the open world action-adventure’s base game, but also its DLC known as The Frozen Wilds. Now, in order to give fans of the title a better idea of what the environments within the expansion will be like, the developer and Sony Interactive Entertainment have partnered to release a brand new trailer highlighting the add-on’s areas.

As seen below inHorizon: Zero Dawn’s Environment trailer for The Frozen Wilds DLC, although the footage is quite brief, fans can get a look at the expansion’s area called the Cut, which is a forested area set to the north of the Banuk homelands. The environment is going to be filled with new machines, freezing temperatures, and even a fourth tribe, with the protagonist Aloy tasked with visiting Banuk camps, trekking across frozen lakes, exploring caves of ice, and much more.

Those looking forward toHorizon: Zero Dawn’s The Frozen Wilds DLC will be able to pick it up as a standalone item on June 01, 2025 for $20, or through the aforementioned Complete Edition, which is set to be released on Jul 02, 2025 for $50. Fans who already own the base game will likely find the better deal to be grabbing the expansion a la carte instead of purchasing the Complete Edition and having another copy of the main game.

Considering the fact that the launch ofHorizon: Zero Dawn’s The Frozen Wilds DLC is just several weeks away, it’s a safe bet to make that Guerrilla Games will put out another trailer to further unpack the contents of the expansion. While the developer has claimed thatthe add-on’s map is is quite sizable, most fans will surely want to see even more of what kind of action Aloy will be up against this time around before they buy it.

Horizon: Zero Dawnis available now for PlayStation 4, and The Frozen Wilds DLC releases on August 14, 2025.
