Microsoft has shocked the world on this random Monday morning by unveiling numerous details, tech demos, info, and more on the forthcomingXbox Series X. Alongside theofficial specs of the next-gen console, a video showcasing its quick resume feature was showcased, which revealed the console’s capacity to suspend and resume a plethora of games; there was a video released that showcased its insanely fast loading times; another video that shows everything physical inside the console; and confirmation thatGears 5would be available on the Xbox Series X at launch.
This plethora of information has also been joined by a somewhat silly comparison: images showcasing the Xbox Series X in a size comparison to both a fridge and a banana for scale. As shown below, theXbox Series Xis 151mm x 151mm x 301mm compared to a fridge that is 762mm x 635mm x 1778 mm. Many have compared the overall look of the Series X to a fridge, among other household objects, so to see this official comparison is definitely taking those remarks in stride.

The next comparison shows a banana sitting on top of the Xbox Series X, which is obviously harder to gauge by ironically enough. Yet many may remember the “banana for scale” meme that began all the way back in 2013, as this appears to be allusion to that internet sensation. Bananas come in multiple sizes, after all, so this doesn’t really help picture it; it is as funny as the fridge nonetheless.
Nonetheless, these comparisons hopefully give Xbox Series X hopefuls something to expect for the console’s launch this coming fall. TheXbox Series X has been compared to household goodsbefore, which is what likely inspired the fridge comparison, but this is the first serious representation of its size to date. And yes, for those wondering, theXbox Series X can be used vertically or horizontally.
Of course, many more are concerned about what new IPs,remakes, and games will launch for the Xbox Series X, and while that’s still a waiting game, it’s nice to see Microsoft taking the initiative in revealing so much about the upcoming console.
