PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch

Arcade racers definitely deserve a home on consoles in the modern era, and that’s just what publisher Wired Productions is doing withGRIP.

Already on Early Access on Steam (to a fairly positive response), the studio announced that the project is also coming to PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. There’s no window in sight, just a general “2018,” butGRIPis described as a “cut-throat” racer that involves tricks and weapons to a degree on top of actual racing.

I’m getting flashbacks of old school racers likeRollcage(a classic!) and even other combat/aggressive racers likeBurnoutandSan FranciscoRushto an extent — which isn’t a coincidence as apparently some of the same developers of the former are working onGRIP. That’s a good feeling to have, and I’ll be checking in on this project as it exits early access.
