It isn’t all that often that Nintendo shows Fox McCloud love. TheStar Foxseries has been relatively quiet for some time, with the last entry in the franchise,Star FoxZero, releasing back in 2016 to okay reviews. However,God of WarArtist Raf Grassetti has taken it upon himself to show the character some love in a new piece of art.

Grassetti showed off an impressive-looking piece ofStar Foxart on Twitter earlier today in the form of an incredible-looking render of Fox McCloud. Grassetti regularly posts images of his work to social media, which ranges anywhere fromGod of Warconcept art, to fan art for popular video game franchises. However, thisStar Foxpiece is certainly one of his best works. McCloud hasn’t been in many games lately, thoughStar Foxcharacterswere added toStarlinkon Nintendo Switch in 2018.

Grassetti has made headlines multiple times for his work with Nintendo characters. The artist has turned someSmash Bros.characters into disturbingly realistic versions,as well as doing other character pieces. Needless to say, Grassetti is an incredibly talented artist, and his work never ceases to impress. There’s an amazing level of detail in his rendition of Fox McCloud, from the texturing on the jacket all the way to his fur.

Of course,God of Waritself is no stranger to fan art. Fans of the game have been whipping together amazing artwork forGod of Warsince it released, with pieces ranging from simple works of Kratos and Atreus together, all the way toGod of WarandDragon Ball Zmashups. It’s great to see fans of video games work so hard to bring artwork into the world, something that’s often under-appreciated in the industry.

It’ll be interesting to see what Grassetti cooks up next, or even better, how he helps shape the nextGod of War.The 2018 reboot is one of thebest-selling PS4 exclusives, so there’s definitely a large fanbase ready to journey with Atreus and Kratos once again. There’s probably still quite some time until players will have the opportunity to do so, but at least they can replay the series while they wait for something new to release.
