Genshin Impactis bringing back Eula as a featured banner character in Version 3.8 after almost two years of absence. The community often joked about Eula being a mysterious new character, as many newcomers who only started playingGenshin Impactafter the launch of Inazuma had virtually no way to pull for the Spindrift Knight. Her last banner was in Version 2.3 on June 28, 2025 – where she was partnered with Albedo, one of the more specializedGeo characters inGenshin Impact. Unlike Albedo, who had a rerun a year later, Eula fans had to wait over 500 days for her banner to return.

It’s precisely this wait, as well as the growing roster of characters, that made the community become vocal about the possibility of having triple banners inGenshin Impact. Eula exists as a niche character, as her focus on dishing out Physical Damage runs counter to one of the core aspects ofGenshin Impact’s gameplay: elemental reactions. Eula may have amazing synergy with Raiden Shogun or Yelan for Superconduct or Shatter teams, but her Cryo element largely plays second fiddle to the deadly dance of her Claymore. This factor, coupled with the focus on Dendro for Sumeru, unfortunately made Eula sink into the background in terms of meta.

Eula’s return was announced during the Special Program for Secret Summer Adventure,Version 3.8 forGenshin Impact. Eula and Klee will be the banner characters for this update, and their return has been heavily speculated (and even outright leaked) for months ahead of the official announcement. Still, Eula fans have no doubt been worried the developers would change their minds last minute, as many believe Eula was meant to have a rerun with Mika’s debut in Version 3.5, given how well his kit complements her own.

Though many players will no doubt be saving their Primogems fornewGenshin Impactcharacters such as Wriothesley, Furina, Neuvillette, and Clorinde, investing a few pulls into Eula may not be a bad idea given her general rarity. Hydro and Cryo pair well together, and given the focus on Hydro for Fontaine, there’s bound to be some characters that will take Eula’s damage potential to even greater heights.

The next character that hasn’t been featured in a long time is Zhongli, the Geo Archon, and incidentally enough, the best possible Support character for Eula Superconduct teams. As a Geo Polearm user, Zhongli’s strength lies in being able to conjure powerful shields to protect any on-field character. With a generous cooldown and a bit of skill, Eula can stay protected from damage almost indefinitely.Zhongli’s last appearance inGenshin Impactwas on July 08, 2025. Though it remains to be seen if he will feature on one of the banners for Version 4.0, he’s certainly next in line for a rerun.

Genshin Impactis available now for PC, Mobile, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
