The update also added the 4-star Hydro support Dahlia, though he is not a limited-time unit.

The Update Will Be The Final Patch Before Nod-Krai In Version 6.0
The release date of the next patch was confirmed by HoYoverse following the Version 5.8 livestream, which was broadcast on the officialGenshin Impactchannel on Twitch. According to the company,Genshin Impact5.8 will be released on July 30. The maintenance for the update should begin on July 29, meaning that any limited-time content in Version 5.7 should be completed and claimed before the date.
In some regions, like the U.S., it may be possible to start playing Version 5.8 on July 29 at night, thanks to time zones.Because an official date has been set, it’s unlikely that Version 5.8 will be postponed in any way. Usually, when a patch’s contents are running late and HoYoverse needs to postpone its arrival, the company also pushes the livestream event back, so it’s safe to assume therelease ofGenshin Impact5.8will happen on schedule.

Ineffa Will Introduce A New Elemental Reaction
As had already been teased by HoYoverse, Version 5.8 will feature one new playable character, while the rest of the banner lineup will be composed of reruns. The new character in Version 5.8 is a humanoid robot called Ineffa, who is a 5-star Electro polearm user.Ineffa’s main ability is to provide off-field Electro DMG and support, but she does bring a new Elemental Reaction to the table. While Electro and Hydro interactions usually trigger Electro-Charged Reactions, Ineffa’s presence in the team will enable Lunar-Charged Reactions to be triggered.
Expected to be a big new mechanic fromNod-Krai characters inGenshin Impact, Lunar-Charged is similar to Electro-Charged in the sense that it activates when Electro and Hydro interact. However, different from the traditional Reaction, Lunar-Charged creates a thundercloud that periodically deals Electro DMG to nearby opponents. Moreover,Lunar-Charged Reactions can trigger CRIT Hits, and its DMG scales based on all characters who applied elements during the reaction.
While Ineffa is in the team, any character who triggers Electro-Charged will automatically trigger Lunar-Charged instead, so she doesn’t need to apply Electro directly; you can have Raiden Shogun or Fischl deal Electro DMG to interact with Hydro, for example.
Ineffa will operate as an Electro sub-DPS in team comps with the help of Birgitta, a robot assistant she can summon through her Skill and Burst. According to the previously leaked and now-confirmedcharacter banners forGenshin Impact5.8,Ineffa will make her debut in Phase 1 banners alongside a Citlali rerun, while Phase 2 banners will be composed of Mualani and Chasca reruns. It would’ve made more sense for Mualani to rerun with Ineffa’s banner, as a means of promoting Lunar-Charged Reactions, but the gap between the banners may give you time to farm more Primogems for both.

There Will Be Two New Skins, A Special Summer Event, & Extra Farming Activities
While it was expected that this would be something of a smaller patch as HoYoverse prepares for the grand launch of Nod-Krai in Version 6.0, the Version 5.8 update will have a lot of content to go through.The patch will bring a new Archon Quest for you to play through, which will be centered around Ineffa’s appearance in Natlan, and further explain her connection to Nod-Krai. This will be the main quest that will serve as a bridge to the upcoming region.
The patch will also feature a special summer event called Sunspray Summer Resort. The location and its respective quest will be permanent additions to the game, meaning that you may be able to play it at any time, though there will be limited-time events with limited-time rewards.This includes Bennett’s new outfit, as well as a 4-star event-exclusive claymore and its materials. The event will showcase Bennett’s adventure in Natlan. Furthermore, the event will also highlight his connection toMare Jivari inGenshin Impact.
You will be able to explore two different versions of Mare Jivari in the patch, and HoYoverse has confirmed that it will expand the region in future updates. Therein also lies a special boss called Bakunawa, which was created by Rhinedottir. In addition to Natlan’s contents, you will also be able to assist Yelan on a special investigation case in Fontaine. Thelong-rumored skin for Yelan inGenshin Impactwill also be made available during the patch, though it will be a paid product, unlike Bennett’s skin.
Unrelated to Version 5.8, specifically, HoYoverse also teased a new Dendro character from Nod-Krai, who seems to be a Frostmoon Scion.
Aside from the aforementioned content, the update will also feature Mementos of Teyvat, a photography event, as well as updates to the Repertoire of Myriad Melodies and Genius Invokation TCG. You will also be able to farm extra materials via the Ley Line Overflow. While this will be a much smaller patch in comparison to the future Version 6.0 update, there will be a lot to do inGenshin Impact5.8 as you prepare for Nod-Krai.
