When Dexter found out that theGemini Killers were actually twins, it was one ofDexter’s best twists in years. It was so unexpected and unique, and it just worked wonderfully.
Even though Dexter killed the other Gemini Killer inResurrectionepisode 7, he didn’t learn everything there was to know about the killer. Viewers were only ever introduced to Gemini as Gareth, and we never learned what his twin brother’s name was. Now, however, we do know what Gareth’s twin was named, and it’s the cherry on top of an already great villain reveal.
Dexter Writer Scott Reynolds Confirmed The Gemini Twins Are Both Named Gareth
Scott Reynolds, a longtime writer for the franchise sinceDexterseason 2 and executive producer ofDexter: Resurrection, recently revealed the names of both of the Gemini Killer twins. Thanks to asocial media postfrom Reynolds, we now know thatboth of the Gemini Killers were named Gareth. As Reynolds noted, their mother named them both the same, which is “part of their damage.”
Audiences were first introduced to the Gemini Killers as a single person, Gareth, but we never learned his twin’s name before Dexter killed him inResurrectionepisode 7. Now that we know both of the Gemini twins were named Gareth, however, it’s become a completely absurd and hilarious part of David Dastmalchian’s serial killer.
The decision to name both Gemini Killers Gareth is also not very surprising forDexter: Resurrection. Many viewers have noticed thatResurrectionfeels a lot like the early days ofDexter, and a big reason for that is how goofy it can be. Whether it’s Dexter awkwardly holding a ceramic cat or both Gemini Killers having the same name,Dexter: Resurrectionisn’t afraid to have a bit of fun.
Dexter Still Needs To Confirm The New Killers' Surnames
Now that we know the Gemini Killers' real names, it highlights another hole in our knowledge: we don’t know the last names of almost any ofDexter: Resurrection’s serial killers. Lady Vengeance’s real name is Mia Lapierre, and Rapunzel’s full name is Al Jolly, though his last name hasn’t been spoken in the show. Other than them, however, we don’t know anybody’s last name.

Lowell, Gareth, and even Keith, the Canton Clubber whom Charley killed in episode 2, all go exclusively by their first names. It’s a massive break inDextertradition: we know the full names of every one ofDexter’s serial killers. The Trinity Killer is Arthur Mitchell, for example, while the Brain Surgeon is Oliver Saxon. That information just isn’t available forDexter: Resurrection’s killers.
