Criminal Minds: Evolution’s Aimee Garcia has opened up on the possibility of her character Dr. Julia Ochoa returning to the show for season 4. Garcia has joined the cast ofCriminal Minds: Evolutionseason 3, the third installment of theCriminal Mindsrevival show, which is also the 18th season overall ofCriminal Minds. Dr. Ochoa has had an interesting arc so far, with her patient— serial killer Elias Voit — suffering a brain injury, and forgetting who he is and what he’s done, and the doctor could be around a little longer.

In an interview withScreenRant, Garcia discussed the chances of making a return to the show next season, revealing she would be delighted for Julia to come back, provided the show wants her to return. She talked about the fact many characters are killed off on the show, and that she hopes her character survives so that she can be in future episodes. Check out the full comments from Garcia below:

Aimee Garcia as Dr. Julia Ochoa in Criminal Minds: Evolution season 3

ScreenRant: Dr. Ochoa fits in really well with this team, but brings a really interesting dynamic and puts them in conflict. Do you feel like you can keep coming back to the show and providing that counterbalance to the team?

Aimee Garcia:“I would like nothing more than to come back as long as they will have me, as very few characters are safe on the show. So I go through the script very quickly to see if we’ve seen the last of [her]. I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but if I were to stay alive this season, and that’s a big “if” – it is Criminal Minds – I would love for her just to be another asset to the team in whatever capacity. So from your lips to bosses' ears!”

What This Means For Garcia’s Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 4 Chances

Nothing Is Confirmed But Garcia Seems Very Keen To Continue Her Role

While anything can happen, and ashow likeCriminal Minds: Evolutionis not one to shy away from plot twists,Garcia seems to be confident that Julia will survive the season. Her comments suggest that the character will have a recurring role throughout, and she reveals she would love to be back for the next season. Being that the show often has a high turnover of supporting characters, there is no reason why Julia cannot become a more prominent one.

Criminal Minds: Evolutionis currently available to stream on Paramount+.

If Garcia is to return, her character will need to get through the rest of the season unscathed, which is no mean feat for characters inCriminal Minds. She is especially prone to threats, considering her proximity to Voit. But, given her important role in the season so far, there is a good chance she will be helping out the BAU again on a few other occasions, and she might even develop a close relationship with the team, which could enhance her character arc.
