Recently, the hugely popular shooter game,Fortnite, has been experiencing problems regarding weapon accuracy shortly after the start of the game’s third season. Epic Games has responded to fans' frustration about the problem after it was addressed on the forums and have indicated that the problem will be addressed in the next patch.

AFortnitefan posteda GIF that shows the problemon theFortniteReddit page. In the GIF it shows how a reticule bloom is happening on the weapon even though the player is standing still, resulting in a missed shot even though the playeraimed accurately. Concerns were raised on why a reticule bloom is happening while the player is stationary, as it should only be happening while the player is moving.

Epic Games responded to the post by noting that there are a few issues at play that are causing the player to miss the shot in this GIF, all of which will be fixed in the next patch. The fixes in the next patch that they were not implemented in theprevious patchinclude enabling and setting the value of first-shot accuracy, which is the biggest issue according to Epic Games. Another problem is that the accuracy reticle UI does not match the actual accuracy of the gun, as it shows the aim to be slightly more accurate than it actually is. And finally, because of the UI issue, the aiming accuracy value was set to lower than it should have been. So when this is fixed, aiming should be more accurate in the cases where players do not have first-shot accuracy.

Unfortunately, according to Epic Games, this problem cannot be hotfixed, so players will have to wait until the next patch before this problem is resolved. Epic Games has not yet announced the date that the next patch will be rolling out, since theseason 3 patchwas implemented only two weeks ago. So for now, players will have no choice but to endure through this problem even though it is causing a lot of frustration.
