Fortnitesuperstar streamer Tyler Blevins, most popularly known as Ninja in the gaming community, recently made a guest appearance at the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Ninja talked about a wide array of topics during the show, which includedFortnite’s dominance in the industry, parental controls, and why people watch streamers play video games online.

Ninja is famed for his streams of Epic Games’Fortniteon his Twitch channel, which is the number one channel on the streaming platform. He also made headlines earlier this year when he broke Twitch records during his famousFortnitestream with musician Drake. In the interview with Fallon, the host was puzzled why people would watch others play video games instead of just doing it themselves. Ninja was quick to respond and said that:

Why would you want to watch the best of the best play football, soccer, or hockey? Why don’t you go outside and do it right now? If you love it so much, you could do it. That’s what it is, there are so many people like ‘well why do you watch people play video games if you could go play video games yourself?’ and it’s like, can you do that? Can you compete at that high a level?

Blevins continued on by saying that watching video game streamers is just another form of entertainment. It’s like sports fans watching their favorite professional players do things that they themselves can’t do, which is similar, if not the same to people watching professional gamers such as Ninja. The interview ended on a light note as both Ninja and Fallon wore headbands while dancing to Ninja’s iconic Pon Pon dance.

This is not the first time that Ninja has appeared on a popular television show. A couple of months ago, the famed streamer wasfeatured on the Ellen DeGeneres show, where he attempted to teach the daytime host how to play the game. As both Ninja andFortnitegrow, it is likely that the streamer will continue to make appearances in mainstream media, making him the unofficial face ofFortniteand in some capacity, the gaming industry.

Fortniteis available now on Android, iOS, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
