Fortniteseason 9 has ushered in a new futuristic Battle Island for players to compete on, and like previous seasons, players have received a series of challenges to unlock a secret skin later on. These secret battle star challenges are now dubbed Utopia challenges and require players to complete the standard weekly challenges beforehand. The season 9 week 1 challenges task players with finding all 7 Sky Platforms, dealing damage quickly after using a Shadow Bomb, riding some of the new slipstream tubes, and more.
After all of that is complete,Fortniteplayers will unlock a new loading screen (pictured above). Although past seasons have made the secret battle star and banners easy enough to find on the screen, season 9 week 1 is following the new pattern of having the coordinates, instead of a depiction of the area, appear somewhere on the screen. In this case, players can find the coordinates for the season 9 week 1 secret battle star etched into the side of the mini-gun.
These coordinates (I5, I6, J5, J6) will take players south of Lonely Lodge and just east ofFortnite’s newly dubbed Mega Mall. Per usual, finding this area will be easier from the drop, though players will want to be wary of others who have completed the season 9 week 1 challenges, and every single challenge will need to be completed before the star appears.

As season 9 marches on, we expectFortnitewill repeat the past pattern of odd weeks having a secret battle star and even weeks have a secret banner. This has changed in the past, however, as it used to be a secret battle star every week, but whether it does or not for season 9 is at the sole discretion ofFortnitedeveloper Epic Games. Either way, players will likely want to stay up to date with these Utopia challenges throughout the course of the season.
