As of late, not only havedimension riftsbeen showing up all aroundFortniteBattle Royale’s map, but also a variety of different mystery items have begun to appear in a wide range of seemingly random places in the game as well. While fans have been wondering what to make of all this, Epic Games has decided to tease what appears to be a hint at a time-travel them coming to its wildly popular multiplayer sandbox survival shooter during Season 5.
As seen in the tweet below from the officialFortniteTwitter account, Epic offered up a fresh image depicting the blade of a Norse-styled axe potentially cracking a time barrier between different realms, which could indicate that a time-travel theme is on the way for the next season. The axe is just the latest object that infers some sort of time shift is being planned in-game, as players have found an old Viking anchor anda horse-drawn carriagein the game’s map. Plus, Epic has previously used a Kitsune mask to promote Season 5.
For those who have been out of the loop sinceFortnitecame out last year, the game has gone through some significant changes, with the most recent season having been centered around asuperhero theme. Bearing this in mind, should Epic Games implement a time-travel design scheme forFortnite, it wouldn’t be too outlandish for the cartoon-like title to incorporate some sci-fi elements into its overall look and feel.
While there’s no telling exactly what Epic Games has in store forFortnitethroughout the course of Season 5, players thankfully won’t have to wait much longer to find out due to the fact that it’s set to go live on July 10, 2025, which is just two days from now. It’s a safe bet to make that there will be a slew of fresh weapons, skins, cosmetics, and map changes, but hopefully other fan-favorites likePlayground Modewill become permanent during the fifth season as well.
