Fortniteis one of, if not the largest video game phenomenons in the gaming sphere right now, having captured the attentions and playtimes of children and adults alike. It seems to be the game that keeps on giving, with thenew Winterfest event bringing Spider-Man skinsamong other goodies for players.

In any other game the gameplay would always be more important than the cosmetics, but when it comes toFortnite, those cosmetics have become a really big deal as they’ve dipped into IPs across multiple industries. Still, the gameplay is nothing to sneeze at, which is why any changes are cause for the playerbase to sit up and take notice.

It looks likeFortniteis adding a new feature for Chapter 3: tornados on the battlefield. As of this article there is no direct confirmation that tornados will actually be making an appearance, but all evidence points towards this being the case. Even as players areranking the new weapons of Chapter 3they are discussing the implimentation of tornados as fact. According to one leaker on Twitter, the tornados are real and have measured properties that players will have to contend with.

According to the leak, there is only one variety of tornado that will be introduced to the game at the start. It forms in about 25 seconds but lasts for a full eight minutes, which is a lot of time for players to have to deal with it. It also picks up and moves multiple objects, with physics properties attached to all of them. This means enormous destruction potential and possible player deaths if they get hit by a stray vehicle in the tornado. Howthe Spider-Man web shootersinteract with these is unknown, but it would be a hoot if players could web themselves to flying debris and use it to move around.

How the community will take advantage of the tornadoes remains to be seen, and it’s likely there will need to be balance changes to them at first. After all, if aSpider-Man taunt can give an unfair advantage, a tornado can likely do much worse.

It seems like they will roll out soon andfuel/chonker filled vehicleswill be flying at high speeds.

Fortniteis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
