Predator Kills the Marvel Universe #1, written by Benjamin Percy and drawn by Marcelo Ferreira and Daniel Picciotto, sees Kraven the Hunter team up with Yautja to take down Marvel icons. However, Kraven tells the aliens to avoid The Thing.
As thePredators attempt to kill Marvel’s Fantastic Four, they send Grimm hurtling through space instead, since he’s “nearly indestructible”.

The attack fromKraven the Hunter and his Predator buddieskills the Human Torch and leaves Reed Richards on the edge of death, but the vicious attackers know that they’re not equipped to hunt The Thing. Kraven warns the Yautja that Ben Grimm is “the very definition of brute force”, telling the hunters that they simply can’t win against him.
As the traumatizing battle takes down Reed and Johnny, it can’t eliminatethe Fantastic Four’s most powerful membersjust yet. Sue Storm is able to escape the attack, and while Kraven and the Predators can’t kill The Thing, they opt to remove him from the battle entirely. He’s still alive, but a Vibranium blast sends him endlessly floating through space.
Both Kraven the Hunter and the Yautja are known for taking trophies of their prey, and they even successfully take Johnny’s head, yet The Thing’s unbreakable nature scares them off from even trying.Predator can fight Marvel heroes like Wolverine, but their move against The Thing proves that the hunters know when to avoid a battle they simply won’t win.

Though Ben Grimm’s initial clash with Yautja and Kraven the Hunter ends with a bit of a whimper as he’s sent off into space, it’s still possible thatthe strongest Fantastic Four membermanages to make a grand comeback in the series. Clobberin’ time could still be coming for Kraven and the Predators after what they did to Ben’s family.
Predator Kills the Marvel Universeis just getting started, and it’s guaranteed that there will be more Marvel heroes on the chopping block as the alternate universe series progresses. While many iconic and powerful superheroes will meet their demise, thePredatorcrossover ultimately proved that the franchise’s villains are no match for at least some members ofThe Fantastic Four.
