A Bittersweet Departure For The Johnson-Led Series
Johnson’s TV show has plenty of interesting portrayals of the financial world of NFL players. The series earned mostly positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoesand had relatively high ratings on HBO, especially during seasons 2 and 3. Because of Johnson’s role as an NFL player-turned-financial manager, it’s a unique role for him contrasted with his typical performances.
While the show leaving Netflix makes it harder to watch, sequestering it to one streaming service, it could still get more eyes on it now that its time there is limited. Given it’s one ofJohnson’s more interesting starring roles on TV,Ballersis the perfect contrast to his more action-heavy movie roles that gives him plenty to work with.
