Dr. Mario World, the most recent entry in theDr. Marioseries, was originallyset to release tomorrow, July 10. However, plans have changed, asDr. Mario Worldis now available on mobile devices.
Since its very first trailer,Dr. Mario Worldhas been billed as a nontraditionalDr. Mariogame. Specifically, while the mechanics ofDr. Mario Worldare similar toDr. Mario, the mobile game has been described as more comparable toCandy Crush Sagathan it is to otherDr. Mariotitles. This can be seen very clearly in theDr. Mario Worldmultiplayer trailer, which dropped just a few days ago, and it can now be experienced firsthand thanks to the game’s early release.
Notably, the early release ofDr. Mario Worldis highly similar to a move made byPokemon GOdeveloper Niantic, who recentlyreleasedHarry Potter: Wizards Unitea day earlier than was expected. There could be a number of reasons behind Nintendo’s decision to release its new mobile game early, including a desire to please fans and an eagerness to see how wellDr. Mario Worldwill do among the mobile audience.

Despite its early release, the final verdict has not quite come in onDr. Mario Worldyet. While some may find the game addicting, a hallmark for the most successful mobile games, others may find that its similarities toCandy Crush Sagabetray the series' traditionalTetris-like formula, which led many people to become fans of the series to begin with.
In either case,Dr. Mario Worldcontains a multiplayer mode that allows people to connect and play on social media for, presumably, as seamless an experience as possible. Furthermore, the mode allows players to go on the offense against each other, which is something not offered by the game’s single-player component.
Additionally, Dr. Mario is not the only practitioner available. Added to the mix are Luigi, who ventured into medicine on the Wii U, as well as Peach, Toad, and Bowser. Each has their own unique skills that, potentially, allow them to get ahead of the competition.
Dr. Mario Worldis currently available on iOS and Android devices.
