Warning: The following contains spoilers for Dexter: Resurrection episode 6.The actor who plays Dexter’s latest victim inDexter: Resurrectionepisode 6, “Cats and Mouse,” responds to their death. The second sequel series of the original Michael C. Hall-ledDexterseries follows the titular character who hunts and kills other serial killers as he arrives in New York. While there, he also attempts to reconnect with his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), while resuming his secret activities.
Starring Krysten Ritter, Uma Thurman, Peter Dinklage, and many others, the sequel series sees Dexter take the place of a killer nicknamed Dark Passenger at a secret serial killer diner party after murdering him and befriending some of the most notorious names in the field. By the time episode 6 wraps, Dexter has successfully eliminated three from the group, including Ritter’s Lady Vengeance, Lowell, and Gareth’s twin.
In an interview withCollider, Ritter talks about Mia, aka Lady Vengeance’s shocking death. She shared that she loved “the twist” of Mia’s surprising dark side. Calling the role an “absolute candy,” she warned that fans shouldn’t “count” her “out” yet and teased that it might “not” be the end for her character. Read her comments below:
Well, I wouldn’t count me out yet. It was so exciting. I read the script at home, and I felt like each scene started getting better and better. And I loved the twist. I was also so happy that the majority of my scenes were opposite Michael C. Hall, and I had a scene with Uma Thurman, and obviously, the dinner party with all of this insane cast of serial killers.
I was like, “Oh, this is so good.” And I then love the twist that she’s not what she seems. For me, this role was absolute candy, and I had so much fun doing it. So, we’ll see. Maybe it’s not the end of this character. We’ll see.
What This Means For Lady Vengeance In Dexter: Resurrection
Dexter reported Mia to the police when she was on a hunt in episode 5, “Murder Horny,” and planted a watch belonging to Harrison’s victim to frame her for the crime. While the episode ended with Charley (Thurman) paying her a visit, Mia seemingly died by suicide inDexter: Resurrectionepisode 6, and it was revealed that Charley had made an arrangement with a prison guard per her boss’s request.
Detective Claudette Wallace, who was unconvinced that Mia was Ryan Foster’s true killer, went to question her along with Angel Batista, but they arrived one step too late. While it initially seemed there was no loose end, Ritter’s comments suggest thather character might be resurrected in later episodes, leaving the question of whether Mia is truly dead open.
Our Take On Lady Vengeance’s Fate In Dexter: Resurrection
Even though Ritter hinted she could still appear intheDexteruniverse, Lady Vengeance might really be dead, since the show has a reputation for bringing dead characters to life as the manifestation of Dexter’s imagination. InDexterseason 1, Hall’s titular serial killer killed his brother, Brian Moser, aka the Ice Truck Killer, who returned as a manifestation of Dexter’s imagination in later seasons.
Similarly,Resurrectionfeaturesthe Trinity Killerin a dream, whom Dexter killed in the original show. The titular character can be seen talking to his dead adopted father, Harry, throughout the show. Lady Vengeance would likely return to haunt Dexter. On the other hand, if Mia isn’t dead, there might be an unseen part to Charley’s arrangement with the guard, which means consequences will come to haunt the Bay Harbor Butcher.
