With the next season ofDestiny 2, Season of Opulence, kicking off today, developer Bungie has revealed the patch notes that will accompany this new addition of content to the game. Anyone paying attention the last few weeks toBungie’s detailed previews of the patch notesshould not be very surprised by the newly published list of changes. But there are more details about the known changes and a handful of previously unknown points of interest.

To kick off the new content in Season of Opulence—and the paid Annual Pass content known as Penumbra—players will need to visit Benedict 99-40 in the Tower who has been moved to the Annex in the Tower from the bot’s usual spot where Benedict served as the raid vendor since the launch ofDestiny 2. That quest will grant Power Surge gear, which will help underleveled players get up to the previous season’s 700 Power cap.

destiny 2 sleeper simulant nerf

As detailed previously, some ofthe game’s top weapons have been nerfed, including Ace of Spades, Lord of Wolves, Sleeper Simulant, Whisper of the Worm, and Luna’s Howl/Not Forgotten. There are some weapons that received buffs, including Sturm and Drang, non-exotic fusion rifles (a selection of exotic fusion rifles got individual adjustments), and swords. Bungie also detailed more about the nerfs to exotic armor that grants extra bonus super energy.

The new Gunsmith bountiesthat Bungie promised to add as a new and more reliable source of Enhancement Cores are also included in this patch, which also retires Scrapper bounties from the game. Weekly reward packages part of the Allegiance quest in Season of the Drifter have also been retired with the conclusion of that season. And, as expected, the Eververse store has been restocked and clan XP has been reset for a new season with a new bonus weekly bounty once clans reach max rank in Season of Opulence.
