After the launch of Forsaken,Destiny 2players started noticing mysterious plates scattered throughout the solar system that were not there before. It wasn’t until after the Last Wish raid launched that players thought that the plates were important. These plates all feature a random combination of symbols from theLast Wish raid, and now it seems that these plates are used to grant wishes in the raid itself.

At the time of writing, not all wishes have been found yet, but from the ones found so far players can skip encounters, grant emblems, and even play the infamous Paul McCartney song fromDestiny. Each of the wishes unlocks a triumph in theDestiny 2Wall of Wishes lore book. The eleventh wish is actually a callback to aHaloEaster egg – Grunt Birthday Party. When players activate this wish and score precision kills on enemies, a party sound will go off and confetti will be shown.

These wishes can be activated in a secret room just before theKalli boss fight. To get to this room, players will want to head left before entering Kalli’s chamber, and head toward the water. Above the water, players will see a patch of glowing plants on a platform. Players will need to jump up there and keep following the glowing plants until they find the plate room.

In the room, there will be 20 plates on the wall, and one glowing disc on the floor. When players shoot the discs on the wall, it will change the symbol, allowing players to input the wish’s corresponding combination. With 16 different possible symbols, and 20 different plates, there are countless combinations, so players will need to find all thekeys on planetsto figure out every wish. It seems that there are 15 wishes in total.

This is a very interesting mechanic and a great way to play into the theme of wishes with Riven. It seems that this is the system Mara Sov built to make sure Riven did not trick her with wishes. Hopefully, as more wishes are uncovered, there will be some interesting rewards or changes in-game to reflect this new feature.
