Bad news for fans ofDestiny 2’s Trials of the Nine: the weekly PvP event is cancelled for the next two weeks. Bungie has made the tough decision after discovering an emote that allows players to glitch inside of walls and outside of the map.

In its weekly blog, Bungie announced that the next two weeks ofDestiny 2will go without Trials of the Nine while the developers work on a fix to the problem caused by an emote bug. Bungie says that a fix to the issue is expected during the first week of November, with Trials of the Nine currently scheduled to return on November 3.

destiny 2 trials of the nine name confirmed

Players discovered the bug this past weekend, which centers around the “Bureaucratic Walk” emote. Performing the emote near a wallcauses players to glitchthrough the textures ofDestiny 2, allowing them to exit the playable area by going into the walls or outside of the map.

Bungie laterquietly removed the emblemfrom Eververse, where it happened to be featured for purchase last week. However, the emote has not been removed from the inventories of those who already have it.

While the glitch is being used by players in humorous ways, like sneaking behind the desks of vendors like Tess Everis and Banshee-44, the bug can also rear its head in more nefarious places. One problem arising from the bug is that players can glitch inside of a wall or outside the map in Crucible. Once outside the boundary, players can shoot at others without them being able to hit the player outside the playable area.

When it comes to a mode likeTrials of the Ninewhere exclusive gear can be earned, Bungie clearly thought the risk was too high to allow the possibility of players taking advantage of the bug.

In the meantime,Destiny 2will launch on PC next week with Trials returning for both PC and consoles on November 3.

Destiny 2is available now for PS4 and Xbox One, and releases on June 23, 2025 for PC.
