Destiny 2players have already come across many of the game’s most strange and frustrating bugs.Trials of the Nine has been canceled for two weekswhile developer Bungie fixes a bug, for example, andDestiny 2PC players are facing some technical issues too.
Thankfully the latest unlikelyDestiny 2bug found by players doesn’t break the game, but it may give some nightmares. In a GIF posted to social media, aDestiny 2player namedMiniCorgishowcased a bug that lets characters perform emotes in first-person instead of the default third-person view.
Players can activate the bug in a specific section of the Almighty mission (‘1AU’) in the game’s story campaign. It seems to occur once players have activated the giant drill that churns up dirt and sediment. Standing by the drill as it spins, MiniCorgi pops their dance emote, and things start to get weird. The results are pretty terrifying, as the player can just see a pair of disembodied legs moving beneath them.
At this point, it’s unclear whether this bug can be activated anywhere else in the game or if it’s just a glitch specific to the 1AU mission. MiniCorgi seems to be the firstDestiny 2player who has come across the issue, which is why so many fans of the game have been horrified when they see it in action.
However, the first-person emote bug wouldn’t be the first example of the game’s emotes going awry. Earlier this month fans discovered that the Bureaucratic Walk, which was designed to be aMonty Pythonreference, allowed them to glitch through walls. That bug could have caused plenty of problems as players could use it to gain access to off-limits areas and soBungie was forced to remove the emote from the Eververse store.
Significant changes are on the way for theDestiny 2emote system, as Bungie has announced plans to introduce anemote wheel. While that new feature is welcomed by fans who just want to interact with their fellow Guardians in silly ways, some may have concerns that it will introduce additional emote bugs. The emote glitches so far have not been too damaging to players' experience of the game, but Bungie will want to verify that things stay that way.
