One of the more divisive games of 2019 was Hideo Kojima’sDeath Stranding. There were those who praised the game as a masterpiece, whereas others criticized its gameplay and pacing. Regardless of how one feels about the game, there’s no denying that it’s a big deal that a once-PS4 exclusive is coming to PC, and soon PC gamers can now learn more about what theDeath StrandingPC version has to offer.
Summer Game Fest host Geoff Keighley recently conducted an interview withDeath Strandinggame director Hideo Kojimaas well as Yoji Shinkawa. The interview touched onDeath Stranding’s sales, as well as revealed the game’s PC launch trailer. Of course, the most exciting information from the interview revolved around the new features that fans can expect from theDeath StrandingPC port.

TheDeath StrandingPC port has ultrawide support, a Very Hard difficulty setting, andHalf-Lifecontent. As far as theHalf-Lifecontent goes, it seems players will be able to encounter the Strider robots and getHalf-Lifecosmetics like a literal valve to hold Sam’s ponytail, as well as special designs for vehicles. It will be interesting to see if there’s even moreHalf-Lifecontent hidden inDeath Strandingthat fans have yet to discover, but they will just need to play the game when it launches to find out.
TheDeath StrandingPC release date is July 14, so fans only have to wait until tomorrow to get their hands on it. Since theDeath StrandingPS4 saleswere reportedly not as high as some expected, it will be interesting to see if the game is able to reach new heights on PC. Furthermore, it will be interesting to see if the new content coming in theDeath StrandingPC port convinces any fans of the game to double dip.
Now that theDeath StrandingPC port is finally launching, fans will be focused on what’s next from Kojima Productions.Kojima is working on a horror game, but it’s possible that he may release someDeath StrandingDLC first. Alternatively, it’s possible Kojima will look into releasing aDeath StrandingPS5 port as well, though that is just speculation at this time.
