The upcoming novelization of the PlayStation 4 exclusiveDeath Stranding,announced earlier this year, finally has a release date for the English version of the story based on Hideo Kojima’s game.
Death Stranding: The Official Novelizationwill release On August 03, 2025. Written byDeath Strandingco-writer, Kenji Yano, the novel will be part 1 of a 2 volume arc telling the story of Hideo Kojima’s post apocalyptic epic. No release date has been set for volume 2 as of yet.

The Novel, published by Titan Books, will follow the plot of the game as Sam Porter Bridges must make his way across the United States to complete a mission assigned to him by the President. Sam faces spectral beings and survivors with conflicting ideologies as he tries to reconnect the world.
Recently being ported to Steam in July,Death Strandinghas continued to be a hot topic on social media with many fans remarking how relevant the game’s concept is to today’s world despite the game’s sci-fi elements.Death Stranding’s story shares similarities With today’s Covid-19 crisis currently impacting industries across the globe and keeping many at home with lock down restrictions. When asked about the similarities between the game and today’s worldKojima jokedabout being able to make a better selling game if he indeed was a prophet.
Death Strandinghas cemented itself as a major console exclusive for Sony, while Kojima’s next project is currently unknown many believe that aDeath Strandingsequel may be in the works. The PlayStation 5 is only a few months away from release so whatever Kojima may be working on next will no doubt take advantage of next gen capabilities.
