About a couple of months ago, Hideo Kojima revealed that the development process for his forthcoming gameDeath Strandingis going a lotfaster than normal, with the director having stated that even Sony has been surprised at how quick the turnaround on production has been. Despite this, the concept behind the enigmatic title is still somewhat murky from the public’s standpoint, but that hasn’t stopped the Kojima-san from expanding the cast list, withThe Last of Usactor Troy Baker joining the game, as well asDays Gone’s Emily O’Brien.

As seen in the Instagram post below from Emily O’Brien, the actress made the announcement by sharing a picture of herself standing in between both Baker and Norman Reedus, the latter of whom has already been confirmed as one of the main characters inDeath Stranding. The caption she wrote for the image reads, “Honored to be working alongside these two fine lads on Hideo Kojima’s new projectDeath Stranding. I’m a lucky gal ;)”.

At this point in time, there’s no telling as to what parts both Baker and O’Brien will be playing withinDeath Stranding, especially with the game’s plot details currently being rather nebulous to say the least. As far as O’Brien’s placement in the cast is concerned, though, perhaps she will be fulfilling the role of thecharacter that was teasedearlier this year by Kojima Productions' Twitter account, which was a female version of the studio’s mascot, Ludens.

All things considered, with both Baker and O’Brien having quite the impressive resumes in terms of various performance roles in past and more recent video games, it’s safe to say that both will execute their parts inDeath Strandingwith aplomb. With any luck, we will find out more about the thespians' roles in the project in the near future, and hopefully Kojima will finally confirm a release date for the game this year.
