InJustice League Unlimited #8by Mark Waid and Dan Mora, time and space are colliding as Gorilla Grodd, imbued with Omega Energy launches a finalattack on the Justice League. Superman Tells Variant Heroes THey’re Stuck in Modern Day DC

The Omega Energy is purged from Grodd and the day is saved. Unfortunately, thanks to all of the interference Grodd did with time, there’s too much tachyon interference. So much so that it’s impeding all the time-travel mechanisms that the Justice League is aware of.Meaning that, for the time being, there’s no way for the variants to return home.

The DC Universe Brings Dozens of Fan-Favorite Variants in for a Huge Fight

Now They’re All Stuck in the Modern-Day DCU

Desiring to defeat the Justice League, Gorilla Grodd upped his game using the Omega energy left behind by Darkseid’s death. He andthe Legion of Doomwent after the Justice League in the past and present and nearly succeeded in his Grodd’s goal. What he didn’t anticipate, however, was Air Wave traveling through time and space to recruit additional forces.Seeing underrated heroes like Jonah Hex or variants like Batman from “Zero Year” is cool, but now they’re all stuck in the modern-day DCU. The name of the team might be Justice League Unlimited, but this can’t be good. Having all of these heroes from different periods is almost certainly going to cause a huge headache for the DC Universe.

The Dramatically Expanded Justice League is a Ticking Time Bomb

This Crossover is the Start of a Huge Crisis

Despite the crossover appeal, the timeline doesn’t generally react when people aren’t in their proper place and time. And this isn’t just one time-traveler, but an entire army of displaced heroes. Things appear to be stable for now, buthaving past versions of characters living in the present is almost certainly going to endanger the future, if not the multiverse.

Crossovers like this are cool, but that ‘wow’ factor could come at a big cost. It’s imperative that Justice League Unlimited finds a way to return all of these fan-favorites and as quickly as possible. If the team isn’t careful, this collection of all-star variants could pave the way for the nextDC Universecrisis-level event.
