Huge News For Sunbros

Each outfit inspired by FromSoftware classics appears to belong to a particularNightfarer inElden Ring Nightreign. Wylder is shown wearing the Faraam set, which is generally held in high esteem for its design, despite the divisiveness ofDark Souls 2. Guardian is wearing the Armor of the Sun,the iconic outfit worn by Solaire of AstorainDark Souls. Finally,Ironeye is the Nightfarerclothed in hunter garb, which doesn’t seem to be an exact match for any ofBloodborne’s outfits, but is very close to the Hunter and Yarnham Hunter sets, or even a darker variant of Henryk’s clothes.

Solaire’s armor set also reappears inDark Souls 3.

Nightreign’s costumes aren’t all pulled from previous FromSoftware games, though; the trailer shows two alternate outfits each for Wylder, Guardian, and Recluse, in addition to their default appearance. These aren’t just recolors either, as each has alternate headgear and different armor. You’ll be able to access, unlock, and equip these outfits via the Fitting Mirror in the Roundtable Hold.

Individual Armor Pieces Can’t Be Chosen

Alternate costumes for each Nightfarer are fun additions toElden Ring Nightreign, especially sincethey can be unlocked without additional purchases, but Fashion Souls aficionados may be a little disappointed. Part of the fun inElden Ring,Dark Souls, andBloodborneis mixing and matching pieces from all thecool armor setsto make a unique outfit. Many players will sacrifice better protection to ensure they’re running around in a great fit. However,Nightreign’s armor sets appear to be whole re-skins, with no apparent option to equip individual items.

This is likely just a consequence ofNightreign’s gameplay – armor has no effect on your character’s stats, so there’s really no practical reason to have individual armor pieces. It still would be nice to be able to make unique outfits, but it’s unsurprising sinceElden Ring Nightreignhas a clear focus on characterizing its eight playable Nightfarers. At least longtime fans can celebrate by equipping outfits fromDark SoulsandBloodborne.
