Theshop simulator genrehas been growing in recent years, particularly after the success of games likeSupermarket SimulatorandTCG Shop Simulator. Designed to be cozy games, often there isn’t much to be done outside the confines of your store. This is where one new title mixes things up by blending in some of the fantasy and exploration elements of aDungeons & Dragons-style world, and rewarding those with curiosity. Whether you want to spend your days selling potions or go out and talk to an Ent or dragon, there is plenty to experience.
There are lots ofsimulator games about everything from powerwashingto running massive civilizations, and it feels as though just recently the shop simulator subgenre has been having a bit of an insurgency. Filling up a store with products, decorating it to your style, and assisting customers may not sound like a relaxing experience, butit truly can be not only calming but also addictive, always wanting to just play for one more in-game day.
Teddy’s Haven Blends Fantasy Exploration With Shop Simulator
A Relaxing Experience That Rewards Curiosity
Teddy’s Havenis acozy fantasy shop simulator where you get to run a store that sells everything an adventurer might need, including magic potions, swords, and more. When your store is open, NPCs, including the occasional friendly goat, will wander in and purchase items. Like other shop simulators, you could order items to be delivered to you for stocking the shelves with, but in this fantasy world, there are other ways of finding inventory.
Exploring the world outside the shop, you find yourself in a fantasy setting called Ursa wheremystical creatures roam the land, poised to grant you blessings and boons for your shop, sometimes at the trade of doing a small favor for them. This world is large, and the developer plans on making it even bigger with the full release of the game. Exploring Ursa is full of surprises, including several Easter eggs intermixed with forageable items that can be sold in the store.
Teddy’s Haven Already Has Fantastic Reviews In Early Access
The Solo Developer Has Big Plans For The Future
Teddy’s Havenhas a free cozy demoon Steam for players to try it out before purchasing the full game, but it is likely that if the concept of the game sounds fun to you then you’re going to want to purchase.Despite still being in early access, the game has Overwhelmingly Positive reviewsonSteamand was featured in a couple of wonderfully comedic videos by the popular streaming duoGame Grumps.
Eventually, once the solo developer is able to finish their vision for the game,Teddy’s Havenwill include world events, minigames, new locations, more customization, and much more.
