One thing thatThe Witcher 3developer CD Projekt Red is renowned for is its prowess in storytelling, andCyberpunk 2077is shaping up to be another example of expertise in narration, includingfactors like religionand other facets affecting the game’s story. Pawel Sasko, the Lead Quest Designer forCyberpunk 2077,confirmed the studio’s dedication to in-depth stories when he appeared on a Polish radio station and spoke of the team’s desire for a mature and cinematic narrative experience.
Pawel Sasko appeared on a Polish radio station, known as Polskie Radio, and divulged some aspects ofCyberpunk 2077and the game’s development. A great deal of light has already been shed on many facets of the game, includingCyberpunk2077’s player freedom. However, Sasko’s interview on the radio station had greater concern with the story itself and its complexity and willingness to touch subjects that are otherwise taboo.

Sasko also said that the game will continually display events from multiple perspectives, so as to make it a grayer and more three-dimensional experience. The game’s complex subjects will also lend themselves to moral choices where the player has a lot of room to navigate.
There are currently high expectations forCyberpunk 2077, given CD Projekt RED’s previous efforts, and the interview tends to suggest that the developer is heading in the right direction narratively. It appears as though the developer is taking what they have learned with the development ofThe Witcherseries in terms of player choice and its outcomes in a story and is applying it rigorously inCyberpunk 2077.The game has a lot to live up to given the admiration forThe Witcherseries, so hopefully, CD Projekt RED’s next effort will illustrate a sense of growth and further understanding of how to construct a compelling narrative.
Cyberpunk 2077is set to launch June 14, 2025 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
