Cyberpunk 2077may still be years away from release, but developer CD Projekt Red is not averse to teasing its fans with juicy details. This week, CEO and Co-Founder Adam Kicinski had a lot to say about all things CD Projekt Red, fromGwenttoThe WitchertoCyberpunk 2077.

WithCyberpunk 2077still in early development, Kicinski didn’t have a lot to say about the game, but he did offer some small details. The most intriguing thing he was willing to reveal is that the scope of the game will far exceed what was inThe Witcher 3.

Witcher 3 World Map

ForWitcher 3fans this is a very exciting tidbit considering just how expansive the world was in that game. It may not have been thebiggest open world in a video game, butThe Witcher 3’s maps were dense and populated with tons of quests and things to explore. It also fit the fantasy theme very well, with a wealth of small tons, open plains, and dangerous caves.

This isn’t the first time that CD Projekt Red has comparedCyberpunk 2077andThe Witcher 3and it likely won’t be the last. For a lot of RPG fans,The Witcher 3is the gold standardby which open-world titles are measured, and knowing thatCyberpunkseeks to outdoThe Witcheris sure to build hype. That being said, we don’t know ifCyberpunk 2077will opt for the open world approach ofThe Witcher 3or go for something completely different.

A prior rumor suggested that the game might incorporatesingle player and multiplayer elements, but CD Projekt Red has not confirmed anything thus far. Kicinski was even asked about multiplayer inCyberpunk 2077but coyly avoided acknowledging one way or another.

In addition to talk ofCyberpunk 2077’s size, Kicinski said that the development team is eager to show fans what they have been working on. He wouldn’t give any hint as to when we might see the game, but it could be as early as E3 2018. But ifCyberpunk 2077is to topThe Witcher 3, then we’re sure that fans want CD Projekt to take all the time it needs.
