Everything Confirmed For Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3

New Car Features, QoL, Photo Mode, & More

Thefull list of updates included inCyberpunkversion 2.3is replicated here. We’ll get into what each of these changes and new features means below.

We’ll get into all the changes to cars later - those deserve their own discussion. For now, let’s focus on the non-vehicular new features, which are pretty impressive and expansive in their own right.

First,Cyberpunkwill see a series of graphical improvementson both PC and console with the advent of version 2.3. Two generations of AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) technology will be supported. FSR 3.1 mainly focuses on upscaling textures, making the game look higher-definition than your graphics card might ordinarily be able to render. FSR 4 is all about frame generation, creating more fluid gameplay by AI-generating additional frames.

FSR 4 will be supported after AMD’s upcoming driver update.

On the Intel side of things, we’ll see support for a different kind of frame generation and upscaling - Intel’s XeSS. High dynamic range mode will also see improvements, withIntel’s HDR10+ now supportedfor an even bigger palette of vibrant colors. HDR settings have also been improved, so you can better adjust the game to look exactly as you want it.

Variable refresh rate (VRR) has also been incorporated into the console versionofCyberpunk, which will allow the game to adjust dynamically to the refresh rate of your TV. This should reduce screen tearing and create overall smoother visuals.

In addition,Cyberpunk’s photo mode has seen a bit of a refresh, to the point that the developers now consider it complete (at least for now). You can now change the weather and time of day before snapping a picture, and add a wider variety of different NPCs to your photos - 27 of them, to be exact.

You’ll be able to dress your V (and NPCs) up in new outfits, and put them into new poses. You can skip individual frames if you’re having trouble getting a particular shot. Color and lighting options have also been expanded, with the ability to create custom filters. Start experimenting now, becauseCDPR is planning aCyberpunkphoto contest in the future.

Finally,a wide variety of quality-of-life features have also been added or improved inCyberpunkversion 2.3. While these were too numerous and miniscule for CDPR to go over fully in its livestream, you can read them over onCyberpunk’s official website - and you’ll likely notice quite a few of them when you log onto the game tomorrow.

Cyberpunk 2077’s Update 2.3 Has A Big Focus On Vehicles

New Cars, Autodrive, Paint Jobs, & More

Cyberpunk’s 2.3 update mainly focuses on vehicles. This begins with theintroduction of four new vehicles to the game(three cars, one motorcycle). Three of theseare earned via side jobs, and one can be purchased readily. The table below includes each vehicle’s name, and the content you’ll have to complete in order to unlock it.

Unlock Requirements

Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru

Complete “The Hunt” and “The Beast in Me” to unlock a new side job.

Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred”

Complete “The Beast in Me: Badlands,” “The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo,” “Transmission,” and “Search and Destroy” to unlock a new side job.

Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa

Purchase at least one other Yaiba vehicle, at least three vehicles through Autofixer, and complete the quest “Reported Crime: You Play with Fire.” Or, after failing the quest, purchase through Autofixer.

Available immediately for purchase through Autofixer.

Besides the new vehicles, though, you’ll find thatall vehicles now incorporate some new features. By holding H on PC, left stick on a console while behind the wheel, you’ll be able to activate Autodrive. This feature will take your vehicle to your destination, either a quest objective or a pin you’ve dropped on the map, with no input required. Just sit back and enjoy the ride with the new cinematic camera feature.

If you don’t want to get your own car scratched up,you can also call a self-driving Delamain cabfrom almost anywhere in the world. Just use your call vehicle menu and select the “Delamain Cab” option. You’ll have to complete the quest “Don’t Lose Your Mind” in order to unlock this feature.

In addition,Cyberpunk’s CrystalCoat and TwinTone features for customizing car colors have been expanded. CrystalCoat is now available for vehicles from Rayfield’s partner brands, including the new motorcycle, and a cracked version of the software may be used on certain other vehicles (custom nomad cars and job-specific vehicles are generally exempt).

For now, that’s about everything that’s new inCyberpunkversion 2.3. While it doesn’t quite reach the heights of some of the game’s biggest updates, like 2.0, it includes quite a few new features and a taste of new content, especially if you’re a car collector. You’ll be able to access everything the update has to offer beginning tomorrow, July 17, when it’s released for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, although Switch 2 and Mac players will have to wait a bit longer to experienceCyberpunk 20772.3.
