Witness the Rise of the Wisps

Sonic the Hedgehogandcute animationhave always gone hand-in-hand, butthe various web shortsof recent years have been particularly charming, capturing the dynamic world of The Blue Blur with a colorful and heartfelt eye to its characters and universe. Case in point:This new short from Sega, released to market the upcoming remasterSonic Colors: Ultimate.

Sonic the Hedgehog: Rise of the Wispsis a two-part animation that features Tails, Dr. Robotnik, Sonic himself, and the cutesy beings known as “Wisps”, that feature in the 2010 Nintendo DS/Wii release. What starts out as a simple storybook tale becomes a real-life mission for Sonic — delightfully portrayed with an amusing arrogance by the returning Roger Craig Smith. Oh, there’s also a surprise appearance by another classicSonicvillain. But why not just check the short out for yourself?
