The release of one ofthe most anticipated games of fall 2018,Shadow of the Tomb Raider,is around the corner, and like many upcoming games such asBattlefield VandFallout 76that have special Xbox One X consoles,Shadow of the Tomb Raidernow has its own custom Xbox One X up for grabs. In addition to that, all proceeds from the sale of the customShadow of the Tomb RaiderXbox One X will go to Best Friends Animal Society, which is an organisation that aids cats and dogs that are in need.
The custom Xbox One X is quite elaborate as it features detailed Mayan engravings and a Mayan map similar to the one that fans had to solve to unlock the game’s first trailer. TheShadow of the Tomb Raiderbundle also includes a custom Xbox One X controller that has vines all around it similar to the vines on the Xbox, as well as other Mayan patterns. The Xbox is up for auction on eBay and is currently at $4,050.00.
As the proceeds will be going to Best Friends Animal Society,Tomb Raiderpublisher Square Enix has also released an adorable video titled Shadow of the Cute Raider, which can be seen below. The Shadow of the Cute Raider video parodies theoriginalShadow of the Tomb Raidertrailerand features dogs and cats as replacements for the characters in the game. In the video one can see how Lara Croft, the dog, rescues a puppy from an evil Sphinx cat.
This video and the introduction of a custom Xbox One X is certainly a clever and witty way to create awareness of and raise funds for the Best Friends Animal Society. SinceShadow of the Tomb Raiderwill feature many wild animals,amongst other mystical things, it is also fitting. Even though the custom Xbox One X is beyond the average person’s price range, it is heartwarming to see theTomb Raiderteam make efforts to help animals in need.
