It seems that popular PC peripheral company Corsair is getting in on the April Fools Day fun this year through their new Game Launcher Launcher gag. In a new post, Corsair tweeted out a spoof trailer for its service that would help players keep track of all their game launchers, making fun of the growing number of launchers out there for PC gamers. In the midst of thegrowing feud between Steam and the Epic Games Store, Corsair shows that it’s fun to take a step back and laugh at the silliness of the feuding companies.
The premise of the gag is that the Corsair Game Launcher Launcher will help PC gamers consolidate all of their games into one location, allowing them to shop, chat with friends, and even get loot boxes through the new interface. The video pokes fun at a lot of the annoying trends present in the game store market right now, like obnoxious friend notifications and managing multiple friend lists. Thanks to the Corsair Game Launcher Launcher, players would no longer need to launch Steam, Origin, thecontroversial Epic Games Store, and all the other launchers just to keep tabs of all their games. While it could not be any more apparent that this is a joke, it’s certainly a funny concept since more game launchers seem to be popping up all the time.
At first glance, the video is poking fun at the launcher feud, but there are also a lot of fun little jokes hidden within the game library of the Corsair Game Launcher Launcher. Many of the titles parody popular or upcoming games, likeMass Effect, Witcher 3,Punch-Outand even the highly anticipatedCyberpunk 2077.Many fans are upset with the rise in Epic Games Store exclusive titles, but thankfully CD Projekt Red’sCyberpunk 2077will not be an Epic Games Store exclusive, much to the relief of many worried fans.
While it isn’t quite April Fool’s Day stateside, it is April 1 overseas and many companies are already getting in on the fun. From Google Maps' version ofSnaketoAsh Ketchum photobombs inPokemon Go, April Fool’s Day is sure to be hilarious this year.
